Handwoven Bags
These bags caught my eye on the drive along the coast of Ahangama to the nearby surf break as we wizzed by in our TukTuk. The only bags I want to use are woven of different materials so naturally I bought one on the drive back but the rest of the trip I pined for more, making our safari driver uncomfortable when i stared too hard when he was unloading coconuts for us to drink from them. In the end we took a detour back to the roadside stall selling them along the coast where I got these for the shop.
Handwoven Pan Malla bags, beautifully crafted by skilled artisans in Sri Lanka, are a celebration of traditional craftsmanship and sustainable materials. Each bag is meticulously handmade, a process that takes an entire day to complete, reflecting the dedication and artistry of its maker. The bags feature intricate weaving patterns that highlight the rich heritage of Sri Lankan artisanal techniques.
